While a couple Los Angeles Dodgers players are making headlines for speaking out against the LGBTQ+ group, Chicago Cubs All-Star pitcher Marcus Stroman has been quite unabashed in his support for the LGBTQ+ community.
This week, Marcus Stroman made it clear that he is a supporter of Pride Month and an ally of the LGBTQ+ community.
“Happy Pride Month! We should always be accepting of those who take pride in who they are. Love is love no matter what!” Stroman wrote in a tweet, sharing a photo of himself wearing a shirt that reads “LOVE is LOVE” in rainbow lettering.

But Stroman didn’t stop with words or a t-shirt β he also put his words to action, announcing donations to three LGBTQ charities located in three cities where heβs played throughout his career: New York, Chicago, and Toronto.
“My career has afforded me the ability to support causes that are near and dear to me and those around me. In honor of Pride Month, I am committing my support to three organizations that are empowering the LGBTQIA+ community,” Stroman wrote in a tweet. “I have chosen one organization in each of the three cities. that have meant so much to me in my career: Brave Space Alliance, located in Chicago, Hetrick-Martin Institute, based in New York City, and The 519, a Toronto registered charity.”

“It is my hope that my contribution will further the ongoing efforts of the LGBTQIA+ community in raising awareness, combating discrimination, and helping to celebrate diversity and inclusion,” Stroman continued.
The Cubs will host their annual Pride Celebration at Wrigley Field Tuesday, June 13, in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
