Brooks Koepka

Golf superstar Brooks Koepka is soaring high after winning his fifth major title at the PGA Championship last week, but it looks like he’s now going to have to deal with a little bit of drama within the LIV Golf team he currently captains.

As Dan Rapaport of Barstool Sports reports, LIV Golf star Matt Wolff has decided to leave Koepka’s Smash GC and look for a team after he “didn’t mesh” with the Koepka’s squad.

“Source says Matt Wolff is no longer a member of Smash and that he’s looking for a new LIV Golf team. Vibes were off and they didn’t mesh. He’s also injured but hoping to return in few weeks,” Dan Rapoport said in a tweet.

It’s a pretty surprising update from the LIV Golf Tour, and the golf world had plenty to say about it on Twitter as a result.

Wolff originally joined Smash GC to start this season, replacing Peter Uihlein. Since joining the squad, he’s had a relatively up-and-down series of performances but has been a solid contributor.

It will certainly be interesting to see which team he joins next and who Koepka and Smash GC choose to add to the squad to replace him.
