For Arizona Coyotes forward Richard Panik, his offseason is off to a turbulent start.
ABC15 reports the 27-year-old was arrested back on April 8 for trespassing. According to the report, Panik refused to leave the entrance of Bevvy, a gastropub in Scottsdale. When police approached him, Panik appeared intoxicated.
Panik was booked for criminal trespass and released with a criminal citation.
The Coyotes organization told ABC15 that they were still gathering information about the incident.
“We are aware of the incident and are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation. We will have no further comment at the present time.”
Panik registered 35 points in 72 games split between the Blackhawks and Coyotes.
It’s hard to frame without proper context, but getting arrested after failing to leave a pub and being allegedly smashed is not a good look for Panik. I get enjoying your offseason but this is obviously a step too far.
We’ll update this story should further information come out.
