Mike D’Antoni jokes the Warriors tried to take his clipboard

Mike D’Antoni’s got jokes.

The Houston Rockets coach recently coached Team Curry at the NBA All-Star game. With multiple Warriors on his team, D’Antoni said he had to keep them from attempting to draw up plays on his clipboard – a coaching move Golden State players like to do.

For real, the All-Star game is probably a more respectful venue for Warriors players to draw up plays, opposed to an actual NBA game (sorry Phoenix). However, D’Antoni wanted to run the ship and that meant keeping the play-calling to himself.

Although, you have to think perhaps D’Antoni could have learned a little bit from the Warriors playbook by letting Steph and Klay Thompson do their thing. Maybe he could have snuck a peek at the clipboard? Oh well, back to worrying about the Warriors doing special, silly things against your team, Mike.
