Justin Timberlake will return to the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time since 2004’s ‘Nipplegate,’ and it’s not outside the realm of possibility Janet Jackson will join him.

Since Jackson’s nipple was exposed on live TV during Super Bowl XXXVIII, many have assumed Jackson has been blacklisted from ever appearing on the broadcast – along with other sponsored opportunities – again. Well, that might not be entirely true.

TMZ spoke with an NFL official who said “there’s no ban, adding “we are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake.”

Hopefully, this is true.

Jackson’s career took a hit from the incident, while Timberlake’s continued to flourish. Which, when you think about it, is messed up considering Timberlake is the one who caused the incident by screwing up planned choreography.

It would be entirely fitting if Jackson returned alongside Timberlake for Super Bowl LII. Hell, it would be great to make her pull off a piece of his clothing to expose his nipple and show the hypocrisy of the situation.

Jackson probably won’t make an appearance alongside JT, but, I’ve got hope since the NFL isn’t saying it’s not allowed.

Common NFL, bring Janet back.
