New Orleans Pelicans point guard Rajon Rondo hasn’t had a great NBA go recently. Signing with the Pellies marked Rondo’s fifth NBA team in four seasons after a long tenure with the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics. However, the reason he keeps getting opportunities at the pro level is amazing passing ability. Rondo demonstrated exactly that at Kentucky Wildcats alumni game this weekend.
Check out this incredible pass from Rondo, where he jumps in the air and bounces the ball of his head for a perfect alley-oop to Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe.
It’s a play right out of former Sacramento Kings guard Jason William’s playbook. Obviously, Rondo’s chances of pulling the move off in an actual NBA game are minuscule, but the fact he can do it all is still damn impressive. Kudos to Bledsoe for being ready to receive the ball too.
Hopefully, Rondo can channel some of his summer’s creativity into rejuvenating his NBA career. New Orleans is a great spot for him to becoming a legit NBA starter again. Will it happen? Time will tell.
