Greg Oden is all of us – at least when it comes to homework.
The former Portland Trail Blazers first overall pick’s NBA career is long over as he’s currently spending his days as a student at Ohio State University. While his basketball endeavors appear to be over, he’s pursuit of finishing his degree is still intact.
Arguably the biggest part of the quest of earning a degree is the copious amounts of homework. When the 29-year-old was asked how he was dealing with college, he relayed a very relatable message on homework.
“Still tough,” he told TMZ Sports.
And the homework?
“It’s homework. It sucks.”
You’ve got to admit it’s very cool to see Oden keen on pursuing an education post-NBA career.
He’s run into some major speed bumps on the court and some legal trouble off of it. With all the fame and fortune, his life, like many other failed NBA draft picks, could have spiraled out of control. But, Oden is working hard to prove that he’s more than just an NBA bust – even if that means doing sucky homework.
So to Oden, I say good luck. Sometimes bigger plans don’t work, but that doesn’t mean his path won’t end well. Hopefully, your academic pursuit leads to great things.
