Get excited, football fans.
If you’re interested in great sports rivalries, look no further than college football. From Baylor-TCU to Cal-Stanford to Alabama-Auburn, many colleges have histories of butting heads the hardest with certain teams. Bleacher Report did a great list last year showing off just a few of the best.
Some of these rivalries have faded into obscurity, or have been cancelled overall due to scheduling and changes that happen throughout the NCAA. One formerly dead rivalry, however, will be returning soon, as the University of Michigan Wolverines will be taking on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2018.
Renewed. See you soon, @NDFootball.

For those not in the know, Notre Dame and Michigan have quite the storied rivalry, having met over 40 times throughout their history. Their last game happened in 2014, as the Fighting Irish destroyed the Wolverines 31-0, and was considered to be their last for some time. As ESPN reported, however, Michigan’s newest Athletic Director, Warde Manuel, had said back in March that he was open to talks of bringing back. It looks like he and the Irish came through.
It's true.

Both teams are considered to be among the most elite colleges of all times, with records that show just as much. We can’t wait for 2018 to roll in and see if Jim Harbaugh will sport himself a shiny new pair of khakis.
And if you’re craving more college sports fun, check the deck below to see which “throwback” basketball uniforms we’d like to see make a return.
