Seattle hockey fans appear to be getting closer to having their own NHL team. The expansion rumors are swirling more heavily than ever before and although there remain some serious hurdles in bringing a franchise to either city, it is certainly positive news for those stakeholders.
As Seattle mayor Ed Murray continues the push to bring professional hockey back to the Pacific Northwest for the first time since the Metropolitans (above) of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association skated at Seattle Ice Arena from 1915-1924, even winning the Stanley Cup in 1917, many are curious about certain aspects of a future club. Included in those aspects is a team name.
