Cam Newton is receiving plenty of criticism for leaving mid-press conference after Sunday’s Super Bowl loss, but he might have a valid reason for doing so.
It was originally thought Newton left the press conference simply because he was a sore loser and tired of answering questions, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Broncos cornerback Chris Harris was conducting a press conference nearby, and the Panthers quarterback was forced to listen to Harris talk about shutting him down.

Newton probably still should’ve stayed to finish the presser regardless, and the “sore loser” talk undoubtedly will continue, but this at least sheds some light on the real reason he abruptly took off.
