Dan Le Batard is one of the most aggressive homer sports personalities on the planet and although the ESPN radio and TV show host is usually willing to admit his love for everything Miami, he went way over the top when discussing the Hurricanes’ win over Duke.
Miami’s controversial victory has sparked outrage and pure bewilderment after the officials hideous botched multiple calls during the eight-lateral kickoff return. Miami should not have won the game and, understandably, reactions have been harsh, with some calling for an outcome reversal, one that would give the rightful winner, Duke, the victory.
Calling for the outcome to be reversed is pointless because it will never happen but the reaction is appropriate, that is unless you’re Le Batard, who believes a Miami bias has clouded our judgment. It’s safe to say that Miami isn’t the most well-liked program in college football but the hate is not flowing and the guy is giving the ‘Canes way too much credit. Le Batard is allowing his homerism to brainwash him into believing the furious reactions are a result of this bias. The uproar would have been no different had Duke won the game with the kickoff return.
