During Trinity Christian High School’s (TX) recent game against McKinney Christian Academy, linebacker Tavione Carter managed to come up with a touchdown-saving interception.
Instead of simply falling to the ground and letting his team take over at the twenty yard line, Carter decided to run the ball out of the end zone, despite the fact there were plenty of McKinney players around him at the goal line. Amazingly, even though he was nearly brought down about five times before he even reached the ten yard line, Carter somehow broke free of the pack and ran the ball all the way to the end zone.
Trinity Christian would go on to win the game by a score of 42-8 but that doesn’t make Carter’s brilliant play any less entertaining to watch. Linebackers simply shouldn’t be able to make plays like this. They should be making tackles, not breaking tackles like Carter does multiple times during his 108-yard pick six.
