In the midst of Lamar Odom’s tragic hospitalization, rapper Master P told TMZ that he thought that Odom’s former teammate Kobe Bryant (who visited Odom after he heard the news of Odom’s health) could have done more to help prevent Odom’s situation.
“If Kobe was his friend … Kobe, like, owns the team. He could’ve got the man back on the team … that’s all he wanted.”
Now, obviously placing blame on Bryant for Lamar Odom’s struggles and insinuating that Kobe wasn’t a real friend to Lamar because he couldn’t get the Lakers to sign him to the roster is way out of line. Kobe may be many things but it should go without saying that he’s has little power over the Lakers roster or Lamar Odom.
On Thursday, Kobe responded beautifully to Master P’s awful bluster without even dropping his name.
