Bill Self left Allen Fieldhouse on Friday night with his wallet $10,000 lighter. During the team’s season kickoff, Late Night in the Phog, the Kansas head coach pledged the fat sum to a student if Brennan Bechard, director of basketball operations and former walk-on player, could nail a half-court shot.
Bechard hits the shot, the KU crowd goes ballistic and Self signs the check on the spot:
