The Diamondbacks need some crazy things to happen in September if they’re to make the postseason, so why not start by getting a rally hamster?
Meet Slider, pitcher Josh Collmenter’s new hamster and clubhouse mascot. Slider, who has an awesome name, rolls around in a ball and is cooler than you.

Slider does not care about your privacy. He’ll roll around in your clubhouse, in your office, or in your bathroom. Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale needs to understand that.
“Something just rolled into my office when I was doing my work,” Hale told MLB.com. “I didn’t know what was going on. I went into my bathroom and there was this hamster or something rolling around in a ball.”
Yeah, that was Slider, and he’s leading this team now.
