On August 27th, the Chicago White Sox will bravely wear collared, pullover jerseys like the ones that the team experimented with back in 1976. The jerseys will be worn untucked as they were nearly 40 years ago when the debuted.
Unfortunately for those who love baseball history and novelty, the team won’t be resurrecting the infamous shorts that the team also occasionally sported back in ’76.

Still, the modernized throwback version of the collared jersey doesn’t look half bad, even if it looks like a cross between an old fashioned sailor’s costume and a polo shirt.
