It looked like Carli Lloyd’s free kick was deflected against Costa Rica, but after that, it just kept rising over the outstretched hands of goalkeeper Dinnia Diaz to put USWNT up 1-0 Wednesday.
The goal came just six minutes in and hit the top-left corner of the goal. Watch it all go down for the midfielder.
Another midfielder, Heather O’Reilly, scored the second goal of the game 13 minutes in off of a Lloyd miss that Diaz was initially able to fend off. Interestingly enough, a weather delay was called in the 15th minute of the game, forcing players off the pitch with the USWNT leading 2-0.
