Summer League can be deceiving. Bad players can look okay, and okay players can look downright amazing. Seth Curry, Steph Curry’s less-talented brother, averaged 24 points and three steals per game in six contests, good enough for the Kings to ink him to a guaranteed, two-year deal (good job Vivek). And considering this year’s especially deep draft class, Summer League this season was pretty special.

No offense to the guards, but I can’t help but pay attention to the power forwards putting their defenders on skates. Slowmo — The 30th pick and Summer League MVP — projects to be a really good player and should log some more minutes on the Spurs this season considering they lost a lot of depth to get Lamarcus Aldridge. And Kevin Looney, the 30th pick in this year’s NBA draft, doesn’t project to play a ton of minutes but should become a versatile, do-it-all power forward with some development.
