Dallas Keuchel is fired up on the mound these days, and who can blame him?
The 27-year-old Astros ace has evolved into one of the best pitchers in baseball this season and arguably is leading the American League Cy Young race. When you’re playing that well, you’re bound to gain some confidence.
During Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers, Keuchel struck out Delino DeShields Jr. on a borderline pitch inside and at the knees. DeShields, thinking it was ball four, began to trot toward first base but the bearded southpaw wasn’t having any of it as he yelled at him to “sit down.”

Keuchel leads the AL with a 2.12 ERA and 0.97 WHIP, so he has every right to talk some smack to opposing hitters.
