Tour de France cyclists typically eat around 8,000 calories over the course of a day so NRK reporter Nicolay Ramm recently decided to try and eat that many calories in one sitting.
Predictably, Ramm wasn’t able to power through all 8,000 calories because that’s way too much food for someone to try and stomach unless they happen to be Joey Chestnut or Matt Stonie.
Still, Ramm did pretty well in his quest/research/insane challenge. The man was able to consume oatmeal, omelet, 3 sandwiches, a smoothie, yogurt, orange juice, an apple, nuts, coffee, 100 grams of pasta, 9 energy bars, 3 large sports drinks, and one and a half cans of Coke before wisely calling it quits.
