Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and LeBron James continue to bolster the Cleveland bench with the signing of Mo Williams to a two-year contract. The deal, worth $4.3 million, includes a player option, league sources tell Yahoo.

Before ultimately deciding to reunite with his ol’ buddy James, Williams was mulling offers from San Antonio, Dallas, and New Orleans. The 2009 All-Star averaged 14.2 points and 6.2 assists per game on a struggling Timberwolves team, including a 52-point scoring performance in a road win over the Pacers. His decision-making and shooting, however, will be much more valuable on a talented Cavaliers team, playing alongside James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving.
In the wake of Lamarcus Aldridge and David West signing with the Spurs, the Williams contract comes as a much-needed roster acquisition, especially for point guard depth. And if the rumors about the Cavaliers inquiring about Joe Johnson are true, Cleveland should have a pretty dangerous bench to back up its star-studded starting lineup.
