It has been two long decades since the Nordiques departed Quebec City for the Rocky Mountains, taking with them a playoff team that boasted intriguing young talent. Although it’s far from a done deal, especially considering the projected $500 million expansion price tag, it appears we’re getting closer to seeing a team in Seattle, Vegas, Toronto or back in northeastern Canada.
After suggesting team names for potential NHL franchises in Seattle and Vegas, here are some options for one in Quebec City. We’ve used Quebec as the geographical name and started with an old friend that, like Winnipeg’s hockey rebirth in 2011, everyone would love to see:
