Steven Matz is making his MLB debut on Sunday and if one of the Mets prized pitching prospects is half as good at mowing down big league hitting as he is at spinning stuff, he’ll glide into Cooperstown. The 2009 Second Round pick was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas in time to start New York’s Sunday matinee against the Reds. While most Mets fans are most interested in his ability to keep them within striking distance of the Nationals in the NL East, others will continue to be hypnotized by off-the-field talents.
