Key & Peele have always displayed a hilarious knack for turning mundane sports rituals into sources of amazing humor, whether that be through touchdown celebrations, press conferences or player introductions.
The duo’s latest comedic target is the football huddle as a team’s inspirational moment transforms into a full-fledged action movie scene complete with knives, smoke bombs and katanas. Like their other great sports concepts, “Pre-Game Pump-Up” earns its laughs by fully committing to its rather absurd premise. How else could a parody of sports and action movies end but with a bomb strapped to a teammate’s chest?
