Max Scherzer has been on fire for the Washington Nationals this season, entering his Saturday outing with a 1.93 ERA. He’s been worth every penny of the bajillion dollar contract he signed over the offseason, holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 13 starts.
He one-hit the Brewers during his last start on June 14th, striking out 16 batters in a complete game shutout. And he’s even hitting .250 at the plate, recording eight hits in 32 at-bats. He continued his dominance with another gem on Saturday, no-hitting the Pirates through seven innings, as of this post.
