Fenway Park was home to an extremely scary scene Friday night.
Oakland Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie’s broken bat flew into the stands and struck a woman in the head. The game was delayed for several minutes as the woman was taken away in a stretcher and, according to reports, she suffered life-threatening injuries.
In the video below, you can see the swing that led to the incident as well as the woman being carried off in the stretcher.
Warning: The video is very unpleasant as you’ll see blood and hear the woman screaming.

There’s no word on the woman’s current status, other than that she remains in the hospital. We certainly hope she’s OK.
