On Tuesday, Sepp Blatter shocked the sports world by announcing that he would step down as the president of FIFA.
While FIFA had recently been hit with one of the organizations biggest scandals in recent memory, Blatter had easily won re-election late last week.
So, one can understand people’s elation on Tuesday when Blatter held a new conference to stunningly state that he would be resigning from his post. Judging by the headlines that various newspapers went with for the Blatter news, the disdain for Blatter’s tenure as FIFA’s president was fairly widespread.
