Klay Thompson scored 20 quick points against the Rockets, but also picked up his fifth foul early in the third quarter, relegating him to the bench for the remainder of the period. He started the fourth quarter, giving Steph Curry a breather. The break didn’t last very long when Trevor Ariza did his best impression of Bruce Bowen’s crackhead defense, sailing into a pump fake and clobbering Thompson on the side of the head. Thompson went back to the locker room, but he was diagnosed with only a right ear laceration and did not go through the NBA’s concussion protocol. He came back out to the bench briefly, before heading back to the locker room.
