Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco was the victim of an extremely scary incident in Cleveland on Tuesday night when he took a line drive to the face off the bat of Chicago’s Melky Cabrera in the first inning.
The ball appeared to glance off Carrasco’s glove or pitching hand before striking him on the left side of the face, sending him to the dirt in a daze. Carrasco was stretchered off but was conscious and alert while leaving the field. Hopefully the damage is limited but, man, that’s pretty much a pitcher’s worst nightmare.
Update:
An update on Carlos Carrasco:
He's being treated for a jaw contusion. Right now, no symptoms of a concussion or head injury.
