Boston University goaltender Matt O’Connor picked a very, very bad time for a costly mistake during college hockey’s National Championship game on Saturday night. Up by one with less than ten minutes to go in the third period, O’Connor allowed Providence to tie the game when he lost the puck out of his catching glove and allowed it to slide into his own net after a dump-in by a Friars player at mid-ice.
Providence would score the go-ahead goal just two minutes later and go on to win the title. Yikes.
