The Miami Heat took on the Atlanta Hawks Monday Night and toward the finish, things began to follow the same script as in the Heat’s Sunday game v the Celtics. This time however, it wasn’t Lebron throwing a ball at an opponent, it was Zydrunas Ilgauskas. With three and a half minutes left in the game Atlanta’s Zaza Pachulia powered down the lane for a basket. Zydrunas Ilgauskas took exception to the move and just as Lebron did on Sunday, chucked the ball off the opponent’s back.
“I didn’t know if it was the ball or a punch,” Pachulia said. “I don’t know what he was mad about.”
The two are actually close friends.
“He’s one of the greatest guys,” Pachulia said. “I’m definitely going to call him.
Or,” he said, breaking into a big smile, “maybe I’ll just text him. He probably won’t answer my call right now.”
We have to give Big Z some credit as it was a pretty accurate throw from about 10 feet away which nailed Pachulia directly in the back. Ilgauskas was ejected from the game and the Heat ended up winning 98-90 and locked up the second seed in the Eastern Conference in the process. You can see both “throws” below.
