On Tuesday, UConn won its tenth NCAA women’s basketball championship by beating Notre Dame 63-53.
The win was historic in nature.
[T]he Huskies earned a 63-53 victory on Tuesday night and a record 10th championship for Coach Geno Auriemma, whose teams have never lost in the title game and who tied the U.C.L.A. legend John Wooden for the most titles in college basketball history.
In honor of the impressive achievement, Nike has issued a special colorway of the Kobe X which celebrates UConn’s most recent championship. The shoe is decked in a Huskies colorway and features a ’10’ on the side.
Within the tongue tab, the shoe also sports ‘2015’ on the left shoe and ‘CHAMPS’ on the right.
The Kobe X has been a bit lacking in terms of good colorways (the best colorway of the model so far has been the “All-Star” one) but this sneaker is definitely a head-turner and a great tribute to UConn’s impressive achievements on the court.
