A fan at Tuesday night’s Mariners-Angels game in Seattle came away with a foul ball but, unfortunately for him, it came at the expense of his ballpark snack.
A foul off the bat of David Freese headed straight towards this young man holding a beverage in one hand and a bucket of popcorn in the other. With no time to safely dispatch one of his concessions, the fan just decided to go for it and use his popcorn bucket as a makeshift baseball glove – and he made a great snag.
The catch triggered an explosion of popcorn in the stands, which might be devastating depending on how hungry you are and how much money the concessions run you, but it didn’t look like this kid was too broken up about trading some kernels for a souvenir. Can’t really blame him, either. You can always buy more popcorn, but a highlight like this? It’s an opportunity you may never get back.
