On Monday, the Oklahoma City Thunder proudly stated that Russell Westbrook had given away the car that he was awarded for winning the All-Star Game MVP Award to a single mom.
The team also posted a video to their YouTube page which goes into greater detail over how the wonderful exchange occurred.
The Thunder got in touch with Erin Engelke of Sunbeam Family Services to inform them that Westbrook wished to donate a car to a deserving member of the Oklahoma City community. Erin immediately knew who could benefit the most from Westbrook’s gift – Kerstin Gonzales, a single mother who Erin had met a couple of weeks prior to the Thunder’s call.
Check out the awesome video above to watch the amazingly emotional moment where Kerstin learns that she is getting a new car due to Russell’s act of generosity.
