The New York Rangers moved into first place with their 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Wednesday and goal Cam Talbot was a major reason why. Talbot continued his impressive month of March by stopping 28 of 29 shots, including one from Nicklas Backstrom that had no business being snagged.
During a 2-1 game early in the second period, the Capitals used tremendous puck movement to give Backstrom a perfect scoring opportunity, but Talbot somehow made an unreal save. The play was even reviewed but it remained a clean save.
