Ryan Moore has played a lot of golf in his life and he has probably had a lot of baffling moments, but Saturday’s occurrence during the Northern Trust Open has got to be right up there among the worst.
Moore was in contention during Saturday’s third round at Riviera Country Club in California when he elected for a semi-aggressive play at No. 10. He ripped a driver toward the green of the 286-yard Par 4 and it appeared to be a beauty that would get him an eagle at the very least.
Then this happened and Ryan Moore was kindly reminded why golf is incredibly frustrating:
He would end up with the most depressing par of the week before proceeding to bogey No. 12, 13 and 14. He managed to grab a couple late birdies and finished with a 1-over round of 72 for the day.
