After waiving his no-trade clause, Kevin Garnett is returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The move should act as a healthy dose of nostalgia for any fan of NBA basketball. KG was drafted by the Timberwolves in the 1995-96 season and spent 12 years with the team before moving on to Boston. During his dozen years in Minnesota, Garnett became the best player in Timberwolves history and it’s not even close.
Kevin Garnett has more than twice as many points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks than anyone else in @MNTimberwolves history.

Still, it’s 2015, not 2007 and the KG who is coming back to the T-Wolves is a far cry from the KG who Minnesota last saw suit up for them. Now, the notoriously intense Garnett will likely be tasked with mentoring the Timberwolves’ young players such as Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett. Twitter, as always, had the best instant reactions to the “blockbuster” trade.
