The Flames climbed back from a 3-0 deficit against the Bruins on Monday night in Calgary, forcing an overtime that ended in their favor thanks to one of the most bizarre goals we’ve seen this season.
TJ Brodie wound up getting the game-winner when his half-hearted backhander towards net was deflected by the stick of Brad Marchand, sending the puck tumbling over the glove of Tuukka Rask and off the top of the net. The biscuit then bounced from the top of the net to the back of Rask, who wound up knocking it into the net before the clock hit zero.
Extremely tough loss for the Bruins to swallow, especially considering it’s their fourth straight and they’re desperately trying to hold onto eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
