The Canadiens will definitely regret this home loss to the…Oilers? The NHL’s worst team went into Montreal on Thursday night and grabbed two points from the Eastern-leading Canadiens.
The most glaring reason for losing that extra point was a bizarre occurrence during overtime in which Montreal defenseman Tom Gilbert accidentally tripped his own goaltender.
Gilbert initially caught Dustin Tokarski with his left skate then proceeded to bump him with his right stake and managed to completely trip his buddy. Tokarski could not recover and proceeded to give up the odd game-winner to Anton Lander. Even Lander appeared baffled by the whole debacle.
