The NBA All-Star Weekend, already the best All-Star event in sports, is about to add a player fashion show to the mix.
This should be good.
All-Stars James Harden, Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins are among the players to compete in the NBA’s first fashion show.
Produced by LeBron James’ Springhill Production Company, the one-hour “NBA All-Star All-Style” will be taped Friday night inside New York’s Hammerstein Theater and air Saturday at 6:30 p.m. EST on TNT.
It will have three rounds: dressing for the boardroom, a night out and attire worn to the game. The competition will start with eight players, with four advancing to the second round and the top two competing in the finals.
As much as people complain about All-Star snubs each year, the only real tragedy that could happen this weekend is if Russell Westbrook isn’t invited to participate in the NBA’s first-ever fashion show. There are not many people who can compete with Harden’s looks off the court but Westbrook is the one man who could steal the runway show.
The judges for the fashion show will be Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and WNBA star Elena Delle Donne which means that there should be some good roasting to go with all the players’ sartorial choices.
