Let me ask you a question…when was the last time you saw a hockey player get a breakaway and wind up scoring from behind the net? I don’t think I had ever seen that happen before Charlie Coyle did it during last night’s Wild game against the Oilers.
Instead of firing the puck on net from a tough angle, Coyle showed some supreme patience, hands and body control by deking around Edmonton goaltender Viktor Fasth and tucking the puck into the net from behind the goal line – all in one smooth motion. Not only was Coyle’s goal a beauty, it was also the game-winner with just over four minutes left in the game.
