Wayne Rooney kept his great play going with a hat trick and led United to a 4-2 comeback victory over West Ham on Saturday. Second place Arsenal and third place Chelsea both tied their opponents today leaving Man United still in first and sitting pretty. Chelsea has eight games left and is 11 points behind United, which has played one more game. Second-place Arsenal is seven points behind United with eight games to play.
Rooney’s scored his first hat trick in 14 months and spurred United to come back from a 2-0 halftime deficit. Sir Alex Ferguson said after the game: “We played like champions, it was a real championship performance as far as I’m concerned.” Below is the video highlights of Rooney’s hat trick.
