Dan Herron had a critical fumble near the end of the half in the Colts’ playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
With less than two minutes to go in the half, Herron caught a pass from Andrew Luck and seemed poised to make a huge play until he got caught from behind by Darqueze Dennard.
Dennard was likely looking to punch the ball out of Herron’s grasp but he whiffed and hit… something else instead.
The Bengals defense would recover the ball and they would score a field goal right before halftime to bring Cincinnati within three points of the Colts. It’s hard to blame Herron for the turnover though.
