What a difference a couple of months make. Back in October, the 49ers were still considered one of the more dangerous teams in all of football, Jim Harbaugh’s future with San Francisco didn’t seem to be in doubt and the odds of him returning to college football seemed infinitesimally small.
So, it’s kind of understandable why a Michigan fan tweeted out this “bet” in October. After all, it’s not like he’d ever have to pay up, right?
Fast forward a couple of months and the 49ers aren’t in the playoffs and Jim Harbaugh is suddenly the new head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. Commendably (I guess?), @MarktheNomad is not backing down from his Twitter wager. The man actually set up a GoFundMe page where he’s taking donations to get the ink work done.
The description pretty much says all that needs to be said:
Hi. My name is Mark. On October 30, 2014 I made the mistake of making a statement on Twitter that I felt at the time would not come true. I have attached a picture of what I said below. I am not intelligent.
As a result, I am staying true to my word and will get the tattoo that I promised.
Your donations to support this stupid cause are greatly appreciated.
I am a dissapointment to my wife and family. Go Blue.
