Johnny Manziel’s pro football debut is decidedly not going how he or Browns fans had envisioned.
The Browns tried to rely on their running game early to protect Johnny Football but when the Bengals went up 17-0, Cleveland was forced to open up its playbook a bit.
Unfortunately for the Browns, instead of mounting a comeback, Manziel would dig an even deeper hole for the Browns. On a second and eight from his own 20, Manziel would try to force a ball towards the sidelines which was read all the way by Dre Kirkpatrick.
After the pick, Manziel’s stat line made Brian Hoyer’s game look desirable: 1/3 for four yards and one interception. The silver lining is that there’s nowhere to go but up. (Right?)
