Okay, so that headline might be a bit misleading. Kobe Bryant did go 1-on-5, and he did beat the buzzer, but the shot didn’t go in. That probably had to do with the fact that 40-foot heaves in a sea of five defenders don’t have a high conversion rate (I don’t have real data to back that up — just an educated guess). At least the Lakers won, though.
By the way, Kobe is now 31 points away from passing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list. We can only hope it comes on a shot like this, because a lay-up would be very underwhelming.
