Watching athletes participate in the “Meow Game” is one of my favorite things in sports. If you don’t know what the “Meow Game” is, you clearly need to brush up on your Super Troopers references.
NFL safety Thomas DeCoud once snuck in a solid 13 “meows” during a four-minute SportsCenter interview a few years ago, but this latest effort from Ray Kaunisto of the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings might just blow that out of the water.
While taking part in an on-ice intermission interview during a recent game, Kaunisto managed to drop seven meows in about 40 seconds – a ridiculous 10.5 meows-per-minute ratio. That means that if Kaunisto got a four-minute interview like DeCoud, he would have delivered an astonishing 42 meows. If anyone manages to top that output, there’s a good chance they’re an actual cat.
