On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns benched struggling quarterback Brian Hoyer in favor of Johnny Manziel.
And while the game was never close, the Browns rookie did manage to score a touchdown on his first drive (and he even got to throw out his signature “money” sign in celebration).
Manziel finished the game going 5-8 in passing attempts for 63 yards.
With a quarterback controversy sure to be brewing, Cleveland’s current savior LeBron James has issued his royal decree of support for Johnny Football. Considering that the two are “family” (Manziel is signed under James’ marketing firm LRMR), this shouldn’t be that surprising.
LeBron asked about Hoyer/Manziel: "I'm one of (Manziel's) biggest supporters … He's part of the family so of course I want him out there"

On Monday, LeBron revealed that he’s often in contact with Manziel in order to give the young guy some advice on how to handle being a professional athlete.
“I talk to him weekly; he’s ready to go, but he’s still learning. He’s a rookie, he’s still learning. If coach is ready for him to give him the nod, he’ll be ready to go, but he’s going to have some bumps and bruises, just like any other rookie quarterback would have in the NFL or any other professional sport.”
There you have it Cleveland. The King has spoken.
