Sunday’s Red Wings game against the Vancouver Canucks in Detroit saw an unexpected delay just 30 seconds into the first period when about half of Joe Louis Arena went dark thanks to a power surge.

As a result of the malfunction, both teams headed back to their respective locker rooms while maintenance crews worked to turn the lights back on. The issue was eventually resolved and the teams returned to the ice to resume play.
