Ryan Mallett had patiently waited three years to get his first start in the NFL. However, after starting the last two games for the Houston Texans, Mallett is going to have to wait a long time to see his third start.

Mallett will reportedly miss the rest of the season due to a pectoral injury that he suffered during Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Mallett was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday and the results must not have been good.

Although Mallett was able to play through the game, he struggled and the Texans lost the game 22-13. Mallett completed 21 passes on 45 attempts for 189 yards. He also threw an interception.

The Texans will once again turn to Ryan Fitzpatrick to finish out the season. At least Texans fans can comfort themselves with J.J. Watt highlights, right?
